Information on groundwater at our plant site in Duisburg-Marxloh
We are taking the situation very seriously and are working hard to find a sustainable solution. “We are taking responsibility – even for contaminated sites that date back to earlier times and are not fully related to current operations,” says Dirk Ritterbach, our Plant Manager at GRILLO. “First of all, it was important to collect reliable data. To do this, we set up numerous measuring points on the factory premises and in the surrounding area and transferred them into a scientific model.”
We are currently carrying out geological investigations at Willy-Brandt-Ring together with an external drilling institute. In this way, we want to gain clarity about the soil structure – an important prerequisite for implementing the planned flow protection. The aim is to use measures such as wells to prevent contaminated groundwater from continuing to leave our site.
“We want to take the people in our neighborhood with us, answer their questions and communicate openly. This is the only way we can create trust together,” says Ritterbach.
