SULPHURIC ACID, SULPHUR DIOXIDE AND RECYCLING

The Sulphuric Acid, Sulphur Dioxide and Recycling Business Unit operates a sulphuric acid plant at the Industrial Park Höchst in Frankfurt for the manufacture of liquid sulphur trioxide, oleum, as well as 96% and 98% sulphuric acid and at the site in Duisburg it recycles sulphuric acids for the production and marketing of sulphur dioxide.

Our recycling process is operated at the Duisburg site and is based on processes developed internally by Grillo for recycling industrial waste materials.

SULPHURIC ACID

Sulphuric acid is required in large quantities and for a number of applications. The largest market segments are, for instance, the fertiliser market or the production of chemical fibres.

OLEUM

Oleum is mainly used in the chemical-technical industry, for instance in the manufacture of organic intermediate products or in the chemical fibre industry.

RECYCLING INDUSTRIAL WASTE MATERIALS

Grillo recycles and disposes of “used” sulphuric acids from industry. As a waste management facility, we offer solutions to industrial waste issues.

LIQUID SULPHUR DIOXIDE

Sulphur dioxide is mainly used in the chemical industry, in the manufacture of pulp and paper, and as a preservative in the food and beverage industry.
