GRILLO starts test drilling
Test drillings at Willy-Brandt-Ring should provide information about the soil structure.
In collaboration with an external drilling institute, GRILLO-Werke has begun test drilling at Willy-Brandt-Ring. The aim of these geological investigations is to analyze in detail the soil structure in the groundwater outflow from the plant site.
These findings are an important step in planning and implementing effective downstream protection. Possible measures such as wells or a hydraulic wall should prevent contaminated groundwater from leaving the plant site.
“The test drillings are part of our comprehensive action plan with which we want to sustainably eliminate the pollution of the groundwater,” explains Dirk Ritterbach, Plant Manager at GRILLO. “We are working flat out to protect the environment and relieve our neighborhood.”
GRILLO will provide regular updates on the progress of the measures and will continue to focus on full transparency in dealing with the groundwater issue.
