We enable sustainable sulphuric acid recycling by treating used sulphuric acid and passing it on as a new product. The recycling process at the Duisburg site was developed by us and ensures efficient and environmentally friendly treatment of used sulphuric acid.

Sustainable processing & low CO2 emissions
GRILLO is one of the few providers for reprocessing of contaminated sulphurous acids. Sulphur dioxide produced during reprocessing is sold again as a valuable material to the fibre and cellulose industry as well as the food and pharmaceutical industries. The entire process is ISO 14067 certified and the specific CO2 emissions generated can be provided by means of accredited certificates.

We offer our customers a sustainable way to use sulphuric acid and then recycle it to create a closed loop – all in line with an environmentally friendly circular economy.
How does the recycling process work?
Industrial waste materials are incinerated at high temperatures in two independently operating rotary kilns. The gas released in the process is purified and used as a raw material in the production of high-purity sulphur dioxide liquid.
