In order to protect consumers, it is important to apply the most stringent standards in the production of medications. Ultra-pure, so-called pharmaceutical zinc oxide is an important additive for many medications used in human and veterinary medicine.
The pharmaceutically pure zinc oxide is produced from metallic ultra-pure SHG zinc by means of the indirect (French) process in compliance with good manufacturing practice (EU-GMP Guide Part II). It can be used as an additive in the pharmaceutical industry.
Zinc oxide in cosmetics has a nourishing effect on the skin, protects against intensive sunshine as a UV absorber, and has a positive effect on wound healing.
Grillo UV PROTec® is a very fine zinc oxide from Grillo Zinkoxid GmbH, which is particularly used in sunblock, as it offers transparent and very good protection against UV radiation
